SURFACES
Choosing the right surfaces for your optical cabinetry is more than just aesthetics – it's about creating a functional and inviting space that reflects your practice's unique personality. We're here to guide you through a wide range of options, from the timeless elegance of granite, quartz, and marble to the versatile practicality of solid surfaces and stunning laminate designs. We'll factor in your budget and desired look to ensure you find the perfect surface that elevates your optical workspace and inspires confidence in your patients.
01
Granite
Granite is a popular natural stone choice because of its unique beauty and durability. Granite is quarried stone composed of quartz, feldspar, and softer minerals such as mica, which add special reflective properties and drama.
The beauty and variety of natural stone can’t be duplicated. Each granite slab is completely unique with thousands of choices. This means that if you opt for granite countertops, you’ll have a completely original surface that perfectly fits your office space - it’s utility and art in one!
02
Quartz
Quartz countertops are a newer entrant to the kitchen countertop world than solid surface materials. These engineered stone products consist of about 95-percent ground natural quartz and other materials with 5-percent binding resins.
Both solid surface and quartz compete for a type of middle ground of kitchen countertops: a bit manmade and a bit natural at the same time. Neither are considered to be as premium as natural stone, yet both are considered to be higher-end countertop products than laminate, wood, and tile.
03
Marble
Marble’s beauty and elegance make it a top choice for lightly used countertops (not recommended for kitchen counters) and backsplashes. Marble is formed from limestone to create a unique crystalline structure. Each marble slab is unique - there are variations throughout and subtle to dramatic veining.
04
Solid Surface
Solid surface's main appeal is that it is easy to fabricate and can create invisibly seamed countertops. It was introduced under the brand name Corian, though there are currently other major brand names offering the material, including Avonite and Swanstone. Solid surface is a decided improvement over laminate countertops since it is homogeneous: What you see on the top of the counter continues throughout the entire piece.
05
Laminate
Laminate is often a great material to choose from for your office countertops. It is easy to clean and there are so many options to select from. Laminate tends to be at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to countertop surface choices because it usually is about a quarter of the cost of natural stone countertops. This does not mean that it can't give you a fabulous look for your office!
Depending on your budget, your neighborhood and your clientele, laminate can be a wonderful and chic looking choice for countertop material.
